Process Controls & Automation Engineer, Wigton
£55,000 per annum depending on experience.
Our client is a global manufacturing employer who’s products are unique working in an innovate & exciting industry. A rare opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full time engineer to join the team.
The PC&A Engineer will support the engineering team with PLC & systems fault finding. Hold ownership of maintaining the accuracy of site drawings and schematics, support the Group PC&A engineer in delivering projects and process improvements. Work collaboratively with other departments to identify production process improvements and solutions to limitations. Asses risks in relation to control systems e.g. PLC’s and necessary contingencies for failure or upgrade. Support the maintenance team in maintaining the plant and equipment to prescribed standards in accordance with the maintenance schedule and production requirements.
Plant Performance
*Ensure plant and equipment is maintained to enable:
*Equipment runs at budgeted level of machine uptime.
*Equipment runs at budgeted speeds.
*Equipment meets all safety and regulatory requirements.
*Ensure that duties are carried out to ensure:
*Ensure that all safety requirements are met when working with machinery, systems.
*Ensure that detailed information is entered into the CMMS (Maintenance Management System) including detailed history and downtime.
*That plant and equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
*System/PLC faults are rectified and route cause identified.
*Creation of new PLC programmes and Software updates when required.
*To be recognised as the on-site PC&A expert.
*Work orders and PM’s (Planned Maintenance) are carried out within the set time frames.
*Support breakdowns within the set time frames.
*Re-design and modify plant and machinery to maximise production outputs.
*Manage/take part in either team or individual projects when required.
*In areas of accountability where performance objectives are not being met, ensure:
*You have a full awareness of the issue affecting performance.
*Conduct the required (RCA) level of analysis to understand the issues.
*Maintain all site machinery software with regards to updates, modifications and compliance.
*Ensure that software backups to protect machinery automation are created and available.
Desired Skills:
*RCA process knowledge
*Installation and Inspection of electrical equipment in hazardous areas COMPEX 1-4
*Previous experience within a maintenance environment, Mainly Electrical with some Mechanical desirable
*PLC programming/diagnostics
*Experience with various programming languages and IEC 61131-3 standards
Education and Experience:
*Engineering qualification HNC/HND/Foundation Degree or Equivalent
*Experience within a Manufacturing Environment
*Proven knowledge about pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
*Proven PLC knowledge and ability in relation to fault finding and programming. (Ladder Logic, C+, Structured text)
*Multi-Disciplined Experience
