Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join our vibrant school community in Billericay, Essex, starting in January 2025. As a key member of our teaching team, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage a diverse group of Year 6 pupils, preparing them for their transition to secondary school while fostering a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and effective lessons in line with the national curriculum.
*Support pupils in developing key skills in English, mathematics, and other core subjects.
*Prepare Year 6 students for their SATs, using effective strategies to boost confidence and achievement.
*Provide a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports the learning needs of all pupils.
*Monitor and assess pupil progress regularly, providing feedback to students and parents.
*Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team and other teaching staff to implement school policies and curriculum initiatives.
*Contribute to the development of the school’s ethos and contribute to extra-curricular activities.
*Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, ensuring that every child is supported both academically and personally.
*Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour.
*Participate in regular professional development and performance management to continually improve practice.
The Ideal Candidate:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Experience of teaching within Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6, is desirable but not essential.
*A strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum, including SATs preparation.
*Passionate about education and committed to helping all children succeed.
*Strong communication and organisational skills.
*Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
*Enthusiastic, creative, and committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
*A high level of professionalism and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
