Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer in Equine at our Brinsbury campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,451 - £41,247 per annum.
The Lecturer in Equine role:
Are you an experienced and passionate Equine professional, looking to share you expertise and love of horses with our engaged students?
As our Lecturer in Equine, you will join our outstanding team at Brinsbury College and deliver creative and innovative lessons to students working predominantly with Equine subjects from Level 1 to 3. There may also be some low-level Animal Care delivery in addition depending on the profile of the successful candidate.
This is a teaching role with a difference! We have indoor stabling for 23 horses, one indoor and two outdoor arenas, plus a training cross-country course. Working at Brinsbury College means working in a unique location, surrounded by 570 acres of stunning countryside with our very own farm, woodlands, orchard and more! You don’t often get that in your standard teaching role!
The role includes Study Programme leadership, where you will support, guide and track progress of a group of students through their study programme providing excellent student experience.
Key Responsibilities of ourLecturer in Equine:
*Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
*Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
*Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
*Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
*Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
*Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
*Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
*Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
*Undertaking the delivery of literacy and numeracy.
Our ideal Lecturer in Equine should have the below skills and experience:
*Level 5 (or equivalent), or above in Equine or Animal Studies related subject
*Relevant experience in Equine and/or Animal related industries
*Delivering HE level teaching
*The ability to work alone and as part of a team with interpersonal skills
*Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners
