Accounts Supervisor

Do you have an interest in working with sports and media clients across the East Midlands?
Clark Wood are delighted to be partnering with a regional firm of accountants in Derby who are looking for a project and accounts supervisor to join their growing team.
In this newly created role, you’ll oversee the management of our sports and entertainment clients, supporting project and transaction services while ensuring smooth financial operations.
You will supervise a portfolio of clients, manage accounting tasks, and support the wider team in delivering high-quality advisory services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who wants to develop their skills, with the potential to progress into management in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise a portfolio of sports and media clients, managing their accounting and project needs.
Oversee bookkeeping, raise invoices for contractual income and appearances, and ensure VAT returns and credit control are up to date.
Support project and transaction services, including preparing cash flow forecasts, business plans, and helping with finance raising or transactions.
Collect and manage due diligence information, including handling data transfers and queries.
Directly liaise with clients to gather information for MBOs, trade sales, and acquisitions.
Prepare financial statements from client records and provide scheduled reports for management review.
Attend client meetings and travel to client sites when necessary.
Mentor and guide trainees and junior staff, delegating tasks as appropriate.
Proactively manage and resolve client queries to keep projects on track.

Skills & Experience Required:
ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
Proven experience in accounts, with solid technical knowledge and an understanding of bookkeeping, VAT, and financial reporting.
A keen interest in sport and media is desirable.
