Accounts Senior - Exeter

We are seeking an experienced accounts professional to join our clients team and provide their clients with the best possible service.
This is a varied general practice position which will offer valuable experience and exciting challenges.
The accounts team ensure the clients’ needs are met in relation to their accounts and tax returns. These range from sole traders to medium sized group accounts & include both income tax as well as corporation tax. With a large array of clients ranging from high net worth individuals to medium sized companies, there is a good variety of work and challenges to deal with.
In this role, you will:
* Plan, prepare, and review accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT for a variety of clients
* Prepare personal tax returns and corporation tax returns
* Assist clients with their accounting software, including Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks
* Ensure work is being undertaken in the most efficient manner
* Provide ad hoc support to the line manager and senior accounts manager
* Undertake administration for the line manager and senior accounts manager
* Set budgets for staff and assist staff with accounts completion
* Train and mentor trainees within the department
* Handle client queries in a positive and client-focused manner
The ideal candidate will have:
* AAT/ACCA/ACA qualifications or equivalent by experience
* Practice experience
* Excellent attention to detail and methodical working manner
* Ability to prioritize work and communicate with the team and senior accounts manager
* Experience of basic tax return preparation and willingness to undertake new (challenging) tasks
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines, both internal and external
* Excellent client communication and supervisory skills
* Great work ethic
* Commitment to continuous improvement
* Intermediate knowledge of Excel spreadsheet development
* Bookkeeping and VAT experience
* Experience using Xero, Sage, and/or QuickBooks
