Duty and Assessment Social Worker
London Borough of Barnet
Pay Rate: £36 - £37 per hour
Contract: Temporary, Full-Time
Working Pattern: Hybrid
About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Duty and Assessment Social Workers to join our Children’s Services team at London Borough of Barnet. This role involves working on a fast-paced, demanding team, responding to urgent referrals, conducting initial assessments, and making decisions about the level of intervention required.
Key Responsibilities:
*Respond to urgent referrals and conduct initial assessments.
*Make decisions about the level of intervention required, including initiating child protection enquiries.
*Work collaboratively with other professionals, including police, health, and education.
*Ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
*Adhere to statutory guidelines and procedures.
*Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota.
Essential Requirements:
*Social Work England registration.
*Relevant social work qualifications (Degree or Diploma level).
*At least 3 years’ experience working in children’s social work.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
*Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
