We are working with a leading housing association based in Leeds, and we’re currently looking for a Rent Arrears Officer to join their friendly and dedicated team. In this role, you’ll work directly with tenants to manage rent arrears, offering support, advice, and solutions that help them get back on track with their payments.
What you’ll be doing: *Managing a caseload of tenants with rent arrears, proactively contacting them to discuss payment options and offer support.
*Conducting home visits, where necessary, to understand and resolve arrears issues.
*Negotiating payment plans, and supporting tenants with budgeting and accessing any relevant financial support.
*Keeping accurate records of all communication with tenants and updating systems regularly.
*Working closely with other teams (e.g., tenancy management, income collection) to provide a seamless service to tenants.
*Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, while promoting a positive and empathetic approach to resolving arrears issues.
What we’re looking for: *Experience in customer service or a similar role, preferably in a social housing or income management setting.
*Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations.
*A good understanding of rent collection procedures and tenant support services (or a willingness to learn).
*A problem-solving attitude and a passion for making a difference in your community.
*Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
Why work with us? *Competitive salary and benefits package.
*Flexible working options to support your work-life balance.
*Training and development opportunities to help you grow in your role.
*A supportive and inclusive work environment where everyone’s contribution is valued.
