Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Huntingdon. In this role, you will provide essential support to children with special educational needs, helping them thrive in their learning environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to deliver tailored support that meets the individual needs of students, both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with SEN in the classroom, providing both academic and emotional guidance
* Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans
* Help with the management of behaviour and provide one-to-one or small group support as needed
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
* Assist with the use of specialist equipment or learning resources
* Work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs or a background in care
* A compassionate, patient, and positive attitude towards working with children
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
* An understanding of how to adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs
* A commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children with SEN
* A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable, but not essential
