Job Description:
A friendly and creative Specialist School are searching for a Classroom Mentor to work on a 1:1 and group basis with their SEN students. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, starting as soon as next week!
As a Classroom Mentor, you will be supporting students aged 5 to 16 with a range of needs - Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, behavioural challenges, sensory issues, physical disabilities and communication difficulties to name a few. As a valued member of staff, you will be supporting the team in dealing with situations ranging from behaviour challenges, well-being situations and emotional regulation. You will also be working closely with the SENCo and class teachers to ensure each student is supported mentally, emotionally and academically.
By working in a specialist setting, this Classroom Mentor role will give you the essential experience needed to train as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Youth Worker or Speech and Language Therapist in the near future. Not only will you gain a first-hand insight into development and neurodiversity, you will also learn to identify the risks and needs of each child, and ensure they meet the milestones set for them.
