Job Description:
R13 are partnering with a fantastic, life-changing non-profit organisation in their search for a Youth Support Worker. You will be based in Norwich, but with the majority of your time in the community across Norfolk, providing trauma-informed support to young people on a 121 or small group basis who are victims or have been identified as at risk of child sexual exploitation (CSE).
This role will suit someone with some experience in this area OR a recent graduate with a relevant degree, looking to develop their career. Full training and support with be provided.
This is a full time, permanent position based in Norfolk. You will be working a minimum of 30 hours, up to 37.5 hours, per week, Monday - Friday. The offered salary for this position is £22,500-£24,000 (pro rata) depending on experience.
**Please note, you will be required to undertake and pass a DBS check & due to the nature of the role it is an occupational requirement that this position is filled by a female**

The day to day
*Triaging appointments with referral partners to ascertain the needs of the child.
*Managing a caseload of individuals, visiting young people across Norfolk to deliver targeted support & intervention in 1:1 sessions.
*Delivering small group sessions to raise awareness about child sexual exploitation; grooming, sexting, healthy/unhealthy relationships, sexual health and consent.
*Developing and maintaining trusted relationships with young people, creating a foundation that will allow you to support them fully.
*Working with young people to increase their understanding in key areas such as healthy relationships, internet, social media, wellbeing, exploitation, abuse, power and control.
*Ensuring all support given is trauma-informed and that the child/young person is empowered through the approach.
*Managing a client caseload, ensuring records are kept of sessions, assessments, planning, progress and decision making.
*Working with Senior team to ensure safeguarding & risk assessment practices are carried out, logged and any concerns are raised in a timely manner.
*Contributing at multi-agency meetings, about individuals you support and advocating for them and using professional challenge.
*Establish and maintain good relationships with partner agencies, professionals, organisations and represent the organisation at events and network meetings.
You will have/be
*A qualification in a relevant field such as psychology, counselling or youth work OR some experience in a similar support role working with youth people.
*Excellent communication, interpersonal & active listening skills with a strong level of empathy.
*Highly organised, able to manage your case load effectively.
*Able to work with young people in a trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and empowering manner.
*Able to confidently undertake group work, deliver workshops and engage young people in potentially challenging topics.
*Adaptable & flexible, capable of dealing with challenging situations and changing priorities.
*A desire to learn and undertake training & further development.
*A full UK driving license.
