About the Role:
Randstad is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Practitioner to join the Looked After Through Care Team in Darlington.
This role is essential in supporting children and young people in care, ensuring their well-being and successful transition into independence.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will take on a leadership role within the team, providing expertise and guidance to colleagues while managing a complex caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee a caseload of complex cases involving children and young people in care, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.
Lead care planning and reviews, ensuring that care plans are tailored to the individual needs of each child or young person.
Work collaboratively with foster carers, families, and professionals across health, education, and housing to provide holistic support for young people.
Support young people transitioning from care into independence, focusing on their personal development, education, and career opportunities.
Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members, promoting best practices and supporting professional development.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safeguarding protocols, and internal policies.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registration.
Proven experience in children’s services, particularly working with looked-after children and young people.
Strong knowledge of the Children Act, safeguarding practices, and care planning processes.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to advocate for young people and engage with families and professionals.
