Job Description:
Job Title: Fire Safety Manager
Location: Manchester
Contract Type: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: March 28, 2025
Working Pattern: Full Time
Responsibilities:
Manage all fire safety management duties, including fire risk assessments, inspections, and audits across the organisation’s extensive stock of properties, including residential and work premises.
Oversee the FRA remedial works programme and ensure the effective delivery of fire safety works to ensure compliance with legal standards.
Act as the lead for property fires, and collaborate with the Building Safety Manager to manage and maintain the organisation’s stock, including high-rise accommodation.
Develop and implement fire safety emergency plans and procedures for all residential and workplace premises.
Provide advice and support on the procurement of contractors for fire safety works, including drafting work specifications and quality standards.
Monitor the competency of contractors and ensure robust contract management to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and guidance.
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
Strong technical knowledge and experience in fire safety management.
Proven ability to apply relevant legislation and regulations.
Excellent organisational skills and a logical approach to building and fire safety.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, and residents.
Self-starter with great IT skills, capable of producing reports and statistical data for effective decision-making.
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
Relevant professional qualifications in fire safety management.
Experience in resident engagement on fire and building safety matters.
Previous experience in managing fire risk assessment programmes.
Technologies:
Proficiency in relevant fire safety software and tools.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
