An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced Management Accountant to join a rapidly growing, dynamic business. This role offers the chance to play a key part in managing and improving financial processes and reporting in a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of monthly management accounts, supporting the financial performance of the business, and helping to drive efficiency across finance systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
*Take ownership of the monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate adjustments and financial reporting for the subsidiary.
*Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
*Adhere to the month-end timetable and escalate issues to senior management where necessary.
*Analyse the P&L, focusing on direct costs (warehousing, courier, transaction fees) and overhead costs.
*Collaborate with the Financial Controller to prepare the monthly management accounts pack and board pack with insightful commentary.
*Support the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting process, providing analysis and insight from actuals.
*Own the preparation of territory-specific P&Ls and support budget stakeholders in understanding and taking accountability for their figures.
*Maintain Excel and Power BI-driven financial models and reports.
*Assist with the annual statutory audit process.
*Ensure up-to-date process flow documentation for all key tasks and procedures.
*Work with the Systems team to ensure accurate recording of financial and transactional data in the ERP system.
*Provide ad hoc reporting support to stakeholders across the business.
*Mentor and support the Assistant Management Accountant.
*Assist the wider finance team in adopting best practices for financial reporting.
What You’ll Need:
*Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant, finalist with significant experience near qualification.
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management accounting role, ideally within an e-commerce or retail environment.
*Strong Excel skills, including handling and manipulating large datasets.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
*Proven experience in process and system improvements.
*A proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach to work.
