Job Description:
1:1 Teaching Assistant (Year 2)
An inclusive and nurturing infant school in West Derby is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 2. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional to make a real difference in the life of a high-functioning child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Role Details:
*Working Days: Monday to Friday
*Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
*Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to a pupil with ASD on a 1:1 basis. The focus will be on building a positive relationship, setting clear boundaries, and helping the child achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For:
*Experience working with children with ASD, preferably in a school setting.
*Strong interpersonal skills to build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil.
*Patience, resilience, and the ability to set and maintain boundaries effectively.
*A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the child’s academic and social development.
*A team player who can collaborate with teaching staff, the SENCO, and other professionals.
