Job Description:
*Job Type: Full-time
*Location: UK (Domestic and International Travel Required)
*Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Overtime available as needed)
An esteemed organisation specialising in the design and manufacture of process machinery for the pharmaceutical industry is seeking hard-working and capable Mechanical Fitters / Field Engineers. This role involves factory machine assembly and subsequent site installation and servicing.
Day-to-day of the role: *Mechanical assembly of full machines and sub-assemblies, including gearboxes, chain drives, leadscrews, and bearing housings.
*Etching logos and serial numbers on machinery.
*Working from mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
*Conducting fault finding, troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem-solving.
*Operating tool-room machinery such as drills, saws, lathes, and mills.
*Completing inspection and quality documents post-assembly.
*Packing and crating of machines upon completion.
*Performing field service work, both domestically and internationally.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *NVQ, BTEC, HNC, HND, or similar qualification in an engineering-related discipline is preferred.
*Significant consideration given to time-served apprentices.
*Experience in engineering, manufacturing, and technical/industrial environments.
*Basic electrical knowledge for cable runs and basic pneumatics is advantageous.
*Possession of a driving licence is preferable.
*Forklift licence is advantageous.
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
*Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
*Willingness to apply extra effort to meet project/team goals.
*Prepared to travel both domestically and internationally for site work, including installation and commissioning of machines.
