Job Description:
An exciting new London based opportunity has arisen for an energetic Client Development Manager to join a leading global law firm to manage a portfolio of clients within the firm’s bank segment of clients and to assist with the management of bank clients within the firm’s wider client focus programme.
The firm has an ambitious global strategy which puts clients at the very heart of everything they do and have a clear mandate to develop existing strengths and relationships whilst also increasing market share in new markets. The firm’s marketing and business development function is seen as pivotal in making this strategy a reality. The team manages client relationships and helps the firm’s lawyers to develop business with the clients globally. The banks sector continues to be one of the firm’s key client segments and they are proud to have extremely strong, long-standing and institutionalised relationships with their bank clients, who look to the firm for support across all work types and products. Assisting in the development and sharing of best practice, you will work in partnership with CRM colleagues and will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of bank global strategic clients. Running day-to-day aspects of client relationship activity globally you will ensure a high level of proactivity in client-facing interaction. Researching and analysing clients’ businesses and key market sectors to identify new revenue-generating opportunities, the successful applicant will need to closely monitor relationship mapping and ensure regular dialogue with key relationship contacts and the development of new relationships across each client’s business. The role holder will develop, implement and track progress of annual global client plans, ensuring client plan objectives and actions are followed up in a timely manner. Client feedback activities will be a key area of focus, including regular relationship, pitch, matter and secondment feedback reviews. The Client Development Manager will also work alongside both the pricing team to manage panel and pricing agreements and the central pitch team to manage global panel pitches and major cross-practice opportunities for clients within portfolio.
The chosen candidate will have solid client relationship management experience or experience of client relationship programmes gained whilst working in a law firm or professional services environment, to include experience of strategic account planning, managing complex client relationships and leading panel RFPs. The firm are looking for someone who has a track record of being pro-active and delivering high quality work and the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines within a fast-paced team environment. The Client Development Manager will also be an exceptional team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a real awareness of legal and financial market developments.
