Facilities Manager - Hackney
Facilities Manager - Education
Facilities Manager - As Soon As Possible
Tempest Resourcing is collaborating with a secondary school in Hackney that is seeking a Facilities Manager to join their team. This position is temporary with the potential for permanent employment, and they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
*Manage the daily operations and maintenance of school buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure a safe learning environment.
*Schedule and supervise routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for all school facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
*Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs, and optimising resource allocation.
*Lead and manage the facilities team, providing training and performance evaluations.
*Ensure all facilities meet local council, and government safety standards; conduct regular safety inspections and implement necessary improvements.
*Develop and implement emergency plans and procedures, including evacuation protocols and disaster recovery strategies.
*Liaise with school leadership, staff, and the community to address facilities-related needs and enhance overall school operations.
Required skills and experience
*Experience in facilities management or a related field, preferably in an educational setting.
*Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of maintenance and facilities staff effectively.
*Experience in managing budgets, forecasting expenses, and optimising resource allocation.
*Ability to oversee multiple projects at once, ensuring timely completion within budget.
*Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and external contractors.
*Familiarity with building maintenance systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and grounds keeping.
*Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage facilities operations and maintenance schedules.
