Job Description:
Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a Chester-based SEND school as they are looking to recruit an experienced and dedicated speech and language therapist to support pupils between the ages of 4 - 19. This is a full-time permanent role supporting young people with ASD.
Your new roleAs a speech and language therapist within this school you will be supporting pupils with a dual diagnosis of ASD and non-verbal. You play a pivotal part of a multi-disciplinary team within the school and ensure that each student’s needs are accounted for, recorded and planned by delivering expert advice to teaching staff on how to support pupils’ communication development. As well as advising teaching staff, you will directly support pupils by delivering bespoke speech and language support on a 1:1 and group basis.
Other duties may include but won’t be limited to:
*Ensuring the learning objectives are achieved by actively contributing and planning appropriate learning activities for pupils on your caseload
*Complete speech and language interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis and liaise with teachers to ensure said interventions and integrated into individual curriculum
*Contribute to annual EHCP reports and reviews
*Complete baseline assessments and AAC including signing, communication books, etc
*Effectively manage your own pupil caseload, including pupil records, case notes, and school policies
What you’ll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as extensive referenceable experience as a speech and language therapist, as well as:
*Experience delivering SALT within a school setting is advantageous but not essential
*Have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree
*Be registered with the HCPC and a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
*Be able to commit to full-time hours
