Manual Grinder *Location: Basildon

*Salary: £26,000 - £28,000
We are seeking a skilled Manual Grinder with a keen eye for detail and a strong technical background. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating manual grinding machines, ensuring client orders are completed efficiently and to a high standard. An engineering qualification is desirable, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Day-to-day of the role: *Setting up client jobs on grinding machines and conducting pre-operation tests.
*Manual operation of grinding machines, including adjustments to maintain tolerance levels.
*Performing general machine maintenance and keeping the work area clean and tidy.
*Adhering to strict health and safety regulations within the workplace.
*Completing necessary paperwork and recording data on production and quality logs.
*Operating CNC lathe as required.
*Undertaking any other duties as necessary within the scope of the role.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *An engineering qualification is desirable.
*Minimum of 3 years’ experience in setting and operating manual grinders.
*Proficiency in using measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers.
*Experience with CNC lathes is beneficial.
*Experience in the aerospace industry is an advantage.
*Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and specifications.
*Competent computer skills.
*Excellent attention to detail.
*Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions.
*Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Personal Qualities: *Mechanically and technically minded.
*Self-motivated with a ’can-do’ attitude.
Working Conditions: *Manual lifting and periods of prolonged standing are required.
*Wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
