Job Description:
A multi-award winning Travel Agency/ Tour Operator located in the heart of Harpenden is looking to add a Senior Travel Consultant to its team. Having just relocated their office to a new High Street Retail Shop, they are just 10 minutes walk from Harpenden train station and connected by great transport links with St Albans. Low cost parking is available nearby, along with all of the delights that the bustling high street has to offer.
To be considered, your experience must include selling short haul destinations, long haul destinations and tailor-made holidays. You need exceptional customer service skills, be driven by your passion for travel, and motivated to meet and exceed your targets. GDS experience would also be an advantage.
They offer a lucrative uncapped profit share scheme and all sales agents keep all of the supplier incentives gained through bookings.
With the agency reputation, High Street presence and marketing activity, you will always have plenty of customer enquiries to follow up on. To ensure customer retention, the right candidate will build fantastic relationships with clients, whether that’s face to face, over email or by phone.
You will have lots of opportunities to enhance your product and destination knowledge - including training from their destination suppliers, in person supplier hosted events where you can meet others in the industry as well as learn about a product or destination - and there are usually prizes up for grabs! Plus, you will be offered educational trips to assist in your learning and development.
This Senior Travel Consultant role is a full-time office based position, 38.75hrs per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday 9am to 17:30, with Saturday on rotation 10am to 2pm, where you can expect to work 1-2 per month.
A basic salary of 25k is on offer with earning potential of circa 45k a year.
