Job Description:
Business Intelligence Analyst *Based Carlisle
*40 hours / Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 5pm
Reporting to our BI & Systems Development Manager, you will act as an integral member of our IT team as a Business Intelligence Analyst. Your role will focus on delivering Business Intelligence solutions that meet our ongoing business needs, whilst ensuring they are fully aligned with current IT strategies, offering key analysis on both business and systems requirements, as well as providing technical guidance and support to our users.
Specifically, responsibilities of a Business Intelligence Analyst include: *Developing, testing, documenting, and maintaining existing reporting solutions.
*Troubleshooting system issues and undertaking problem resolution tasks.
*Maintaining existing levels of integration between in-house systems.
*Reviewing existing reporting solutions and making recommendations for improvement.
*Providing solutions for new integrations and assessing their suitability from a technical and business perspective.
*Preparation of documentation of existing systems.
*Provide training and guidance to Cognos users to develop their self service potential.
About You: As an experienced BI Analyst, you’ll have a keen attention to detail, along with the know-how to identify and resolve problems. Ideally, experienced working within a large scale, multi-site business, you’ll also have:
*Previous experience of developing BI solutions, experience of Cognos Analytics and Cognos Framework Manager is desirable but not essential.
*Extensive experience with SQL, preferably SQL Server.
*First rate communication and relationship building skills.
*Full driving licence and willingness to traveling to our sites across the UK.
*Experience with Microsoft SQL Server SSIS, Microsoft Excel VBA and SAP would be desirable but not essential.
