Cladding Design Manager

Job Description:
Management and audit of the assigned projects in its support of design, in conjunction with the relevant commercial & site teams.
Manage specifications and drawings, including creation and amendments.
Liaise with Site Managers to assist in quality of delivery of core services.
Manage, motivate and appraise staff that reports directly to the Design Manager.
Liaison with H&S and other departments as required to improve business
processes and maintain quality, throughout the company.
Liaison with manufacturers, external structural engineers and architects.
Role Responsibilities:
Collation, management and monitoring of specifications, drawings related calculations and design process from start to finish on the assigned projects.
Liaison with manufacturers and project teams including distribution of relevant documentation.
Respond to technical queries and make recommendations to resolve problems.
Respond to ad-hoc problems and raise with Head of Design accordingly.
Understand commercial implications of risks, issues and recommendations.
Management and monitoring of design specifications and drawings for other external/sub-contract works (i.e. windows, roofing, M&E), etc.
Key Tasks
Visit sites on a planned and ad-hoc basis.
Attend regular meetings with Site Teams, as required.
Attend Client Design Meetings
Resolve site issues and make recommendations for future changes to Head of Design.
Management of direct reporting staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experienced design manager, within environmental construction projects.
CSCS card.
Competent user MS Excel, MS Word, Microsoft Outlook email and calendars.
Competent user Project Probe.
