Job Description
Our client is seeking a proactive and creative Marketing Assistant to join their team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to support the school’s marketing and communications activities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the school’s presence both online and offline, with a strong focus on digital marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Communications
*Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and monitor engaging content across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
*Website Maintenance: Regularly update the school website, ensuring content is accurate, current, and reflects the school’s ethos and events.
*Email Marketing: Assist in creating and distributing newsletters, invitations, and other email campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp.
*Content Creation: Produce digital content, including photography, short videos, and written content for blogs and social media.
*Analytics & Reporting: Monitor and report on website and social media analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and identify opportunities for improvement.
Traditional Marketing & Events
*Support the planning and execution of key school events, such as open days, parent evenings, and student performances.
*Assist with the design and production of promotional materials (e.g., flyers, brochures, posters).
*Coordinate with external suppliers (e.g., photographers, designers, and printers) to deliver marketing materials on time.
General Administration
*Maintain the school’s marketing databases and mailing lists.
*Assist with market research to understand competitor activities and identify marketing trends.
*Provide administrative support to the wider team as required.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
*Previous experience in a marketing role, ideally within the education sector or a related field.
*Strong understanding of social media platforms and website management (CMS experience preferred).
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and email marketing platforms.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Creative flair with a keen eye for detail.
Desirable Skills & Attributes
*Experience in photography, video editing, and graphic design.
*Familiarity with SEO, Google Analytics, and paid social media advertising.
*Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
*A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
