Quality Inspector
Annual Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Location: Sittingbourne
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reed Engineering are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join an established manufacturing business. This role is crucial for ensuring that all products meet both customer and organisational quality requirements. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, this hands-on position involves comprehensive inspection duties, both visual and dimensional, and the maintenance of calibration databases.
Day-to-day of the Quality Inspector role:
*Perform thorough inspections according to engineering drawings.
*Conduct precise measurements using tools such as CMMs, micrometres, vernier callipers, dial test indicators, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
*Ability to create CMM programs is advantageous.
*Visually compare products to identify in-process manufacturing variations.
*Report any quality issues to the Quality Manager and ensure that corrective actions are implemented.
Required Skills & Qualifications of the Quality Inspector:
*Qualification in mechanical engineering
*Proven experience in a quality/inspection role.
*Strong understanding of engineering drawings
*Excellent attention to detail and a proactive ’can do’ attitude.
*Proficient computer and communication skills.
*Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
*Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
