Job Description:
Job role:
To be able to estimate work for projects by reviewing clients’ requirements, drawings, specifications, and related documents and submitting an accurate error free detailed estimate.
You would work closely with other team members including our large team of estimators, contracts managers, the doorset production department and clients architects and design teams, so team working skills are essential.
The estimator must be a good forward planner who will be often required to make judgements or assessments in relation to budget costs from limited information.

My Client specializes in high-quality joinery solutions, providing expert services in bespoke joinery, fire door installation, and maintenance. Responsibilities and Duties
• Prepare quotations from drawings and specifications based on client instructions.
• Be capable of accurately measuring and drawing up plans which are well presented.
• Produce costings.
• Complete quotations and submit accordingly.
• Ability and experience working on multiple tenders and quotations at a given time.
• Be able to liaise with clients and ensure their requirements are adhered to (or advise otherwise).
• Reviewing sub-contractors and suppliers’ quotations.
• Dealing with enquiries and written correspondence relating to estimates. These will typically involve answering queries against estimates submitted.
• Negotiating final submissions with the client to convert the estimate into an order.
Qualifications and Skills
• degree or equivalent preferable but not essential
• Computer literate.
• Good understanding of all Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
• Must be articulate and numerate.
• At least 3 years estimating experience.
Essential requirements:
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in estimating or quantity surveying within the construction industry. However, we are aware that we work within a specialist sub-contract industry, and we will not discount bona fide estimators from other industries or joiners seeking the next step in their career.
• Effective verbal communication skills with customers & co-workers.
• Ability to function well as part of a team and as an individual.
• Diligent attention to detail.
• Able to exercise initiative and priorities duties accordingly.
• Be able to use initiative, make decisions and consult as appropriate.
• UK Driving license is essential to attend sites and commute to and from office.
