Accounts Assistant

• Annual Salary: Competitive

REED Finance are pleased to be working exclusively with our highly prestigious, market leading business based in Barrow. We are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join on a Full time, permanent basis.


Day to Day of the Role:


• Utilise Sage 50 Cloud accounts for bookkeeping and accounting processes.

• Reconcile company client bank accounts.

• Calculate monthly depreciation, accruals, and prepayments.

• Complete VAT returns and submit them online.

• Prepare monthly profit and loss and balance sheets for clients.

• Manage clients’ cheque and cash banking.

• Handle company sales and purchase ledger.

• Process payment of general expenses, supplier payments, and all client funds by BACS.

• Manage Direct Debit collections for clients, create new payment records

• Create Direct Credit files purchase invoices and expenses.

• Undertake other general commercial activities as required.

• Occasionally work outside of normal office hours.

• Perform any other duties as reasonably requested related to the role and its functions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:


• Experience with Sage 50 Cloud accounts or similar accounting software.

• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes.

• Ability to complete VAT returns and understand financial statements.

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Professional, personable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• A team player who is also capable of working independently.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
