Job Description:
Social Housing Officer
OA is on the lookout for a Social Housing Officerto oversee and support multiple accommodation sites, ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of asylum seekers residing within the facilities.
In this pivotal role, you will act as the primary point of contact for safeguarding concerns, implementing policies, managing incidents, and collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to provide a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable individuals.
A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
Location: Highams Park, London.
Hours: This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:50 PM, primarily based on the road, visiting various hotels.
Salary: £28,000-£32,000 – depending on experience.

Social Housing Officer - Key Responsibilities:
*Safeguarding & Incident Management: Lead safeguarding efforts, manage incidents, and escalate serious cases as needed, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
*Policy & Compliance: Implement and review safeguarding policies, ensuring adherence and understanding across staff, with regular updates aligned with legislation.
*Multi-Agency Coordination: Collaborate with social services, healthcare providers, and law enforcement for effective case management and information sharing.
*Resident Welfare: Support residents’ well-being, monitor high-risk individuals, and ensure appropriate interventions for vulnerable groups, including unaccompanied minors.
*Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and secure records for all safeguarding cases, ensuring data protection compliance.
*Cultural Sensitivity: Foster an inclusive environment respecting residents’ cultural backgrounds and promote community integration.
Social Housing Officer- Skills and Experience Required:
*Level 3 Safeguarding Training and NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in social work, youth work, or community work.
*2-3 years’ experience in safeguarding, welfare, or housing-related roles.
*Strong knowledge of UK safeguarding laws, policy implementation, and case management.
*Experience with vulnerable individuals, particularly refugees or asylum seekers.
*Excellent communication, organisation, and multi-agency collaboration skills.
*Empathy, cultural awareness, and commitment to equality and diversity.
*Resilience and professionalism in handling challenging situations.
