Based in Peterborough, we are looking for a QE Health and Safety officer to join their team on a Temp to Perm contract.


Job Title:                                 QEH&S Support Officer

Working hours                        9-5 – Monday to Friday

Salary                                      £14p/h

Main purpose of role:
This role (under the guidance of the QEHS Coordinator) is to run the day-to-day activities associated with the UK plant QEHS.
Description of Main Responsibilities and Duties:
*Day to day maintenance of our EQEHS system, covering various standards.
*Deliver safe methods of working throughout the plant by engaging employees.
*Monitor the "samples" program internally to ensure that new products comply with customer specifications.
*Monitor effectiveness of the quality management program and maintenance of external certifications (ISO 9001-2015, FSC etc. and government permits where applicable),
*Carry out regular reviews of key quality and performance metrics
*Support internal auditing functions and schedules as needed.
*Maintain calibration and Quality management systems.
*Contribute to occupational health monitoring efforts as required.
*Responsibility for non-conformance system and investigations (CAPA).
*Prepare for and run internal / external audits (with supervision initially) ensuring action plan with objectives is delivered to address any issues identified.
*Understand and monitor changes to legislation and good practice that significantly impacts on our business.
*Monitor and keep up to date the COSHH database including updating existing COSHH assessments when required, monitor safe use and storage of chemicals on site.
*Support day-to-day queries across the site including investigations and risk assessments when required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
*Experience in safety an advantage but not essential
*Previous experience in ISO 9001:2015 desired
*Highly organised with an ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
*Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Identifying and addressing issues.
*Conscientious and responsible: Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards.
*Strong communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management team and including auditors.
*Confidence - Shows confidence in self and the ability to take on new challenges and ask for support when needed.
*Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
*Flexible and adaptable approach to work
*Commercial awareness
*This role is not limited to the above and requires a flexible attitude as the business requires.
Required Education:
GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education):
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4, including English and Math’s. Or EU education equivalent to above.
Higher Education (Optional but Beneficial):
A Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in subjects such as Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or Quality Management can be advantageous.
