Temp CNC Programmer/Operator

Location: Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £13.88 - £15.77 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Friday: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Are you an experienced and driven CNC programmer/operator looking for a new challenge and available immediately?
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our client’s team, generating CNC programs for 3 & 5-axis machining to trim composite parts, create CNC jigs, and produce composite tooling. This role is critical to ensuring efficient and high-quality production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
*Develop CNC programs for 3 & 5-axis machining.
*Generate detailed work instructions for machining setup and support CNC operators during machining.
*Optimize machining practices to reduce time and improve efficiency.
*Support production operatives in all aspects of 3 & 5-axis machining.
*Operate 3 & 5-axis CNC machines as needed to meet resource requirements.
*Provide technical support and troubleshooting for CNC operators.
*Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing.
*Collaborate with internal engineering teams and sub-contract suppliers to resolve technical issues.
*Ensure on-time and accurate delivery of products.
Desired Skills and Experience:
*Proven experience as a CNC programmer/operator.
*Proficiency in 3 & 5-axis programming software.
*Problem-solving ability to identify root causes and resolve technical issues.
*Experience with or willingness to learn 3D CAD software.
*Familiarity with Mastercam CNC software (training can be provided).
*Awareness of or experience with CMM inspection processes and relevant software (training can be provided).
*Homag experience preferred.
