Job Description:
We are currently recruiting a long-established but forward-thinking financial planning firm, currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Paraplanner. This leadership role requires a high level of technical expertise and combines the oversight of a team of Financial Planning Assistants (FPAs/Paraplanners) with ensuring that the Financial Planners deliver consistent, top tier and personalised advice to their clients.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
*Extensive knowledge of investment products, tax laws, retirement planning and regulatory compliance.
*Ideally Chartered or working towards this qualification but with a minimum of CISI Level 4 or CII DipPFS.
*Minimum of 4 years relevant industry experience.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*High level of professionalism and integrity.
*Familiarity with financial planning software (e.g. Intelliflo, Voyant, Finametrica).
*A positive and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide high-quality technical support to the financial planners and assistants, particularly in connection with complex matters, e.g. SSAS, DB schemes, EIS & VCTs and Investment bonds.
*Manage and mentor the FPAs.
*Support the FPAs in the preparation of client financial plans and Suitability Letters.
*Provide additional FPA resource/cover as and when needed.
*Serve as the primary point of contact for technical discussions with clients, product providers and internal teams.
*Take responsibility for ensuring that the financial planners and FPAs remain up to date with both the technical understanding and practical application of relevant products and strategies.
*Proactively ensure that internal advice-related processes are structured and followed efficiently and consistently.
*Selecting the most suitable products for the firm’s clients, e.g. wrap platform due diligence and selection of, and training on, research tools.
*Assist the Investment Director with gathering of fund due diligence for the Centralised Investment Proposition.
*Attend client meetings on request, e.g. for detailed discussion of more complex issues
*Ensure that recommended technical solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements and internal processes.
*Liaise with Compliance to ensure the firm’s processes adhere to the highest standards.
*Identify opportunities for process improvements and new technologies which can enhance product offerings or internal processes.
Job Type:
Permanent, Full-time, office-based, Monday to Friday.
