Plumbing Tutor
Location: Newcastle Training Centre
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Position: Full-time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Plumbing Tutor to join a respected training provider at their brand-new Newcastle Training Centre, opening in 2025. This role focuses on delivering exceptional teaching and learning in plumbing and gas standards, ensuring apprentices excel at Level 3 and are fully prepared for end-point assessments.
Key Responsibilities: *Deliver innovative teaching and assessment for theoretical and practical Level 3 courses in line with awarding organization requirements.
*Develop high-quality teaching resources and activities to enhance the curriculum.
*Assess and provide constructive feedback on apprentices’ coursework.
*Track attendance, punctuality, and progress, implementing interventions to ensure timely achievement.
*Advise on and manage materials and equipment for workshops and teaching activities.
*Maintain discipline and ensure the welfare and safety of apprentices during training sessions.
*Liaise with internal and external inspection bodies (e.g., Ofsted), responding promptly to requests.
*Provide support and guidance to apprentices throughout their training, promoting their development and readiness for assessments.
*Respond to employer and apprentice queries professionally and promptly.
*Keep accurate administrative records and maintain up-to-date industry and teaching knowledge through CPD activities.
Person Specification: Essential Criteria:
*Level 3 qualification in Plumbing (NVQ3 or equivalent).
*Current Gas ACS certification and Unvented Hot Water qualification.
*Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).
*Proficiency in Maths and English at Level 2 or above.
*Demonstrated occupational competence in the plumbing and gas industry.
*Strong IT skills and a self-motivated, adaptable approach to work.
Desirable Criteria:
*Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and end-point assessments.
*Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely).
*Assessor or Internal Verifier qualifications (or willingness to achieve them).
