Job Description:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Business Development Manager with experience working in a fast-paced, professional and client-focused environment, to join the dynamic and talented marketing and business development team of a major international law firm.
This is a unique and varied role requiring excellent teamworking and communication skills as well as the ability to build strong and trusted relationships with senior internal stakeholders in the region and across the firm. The role requires an experienced professional who can work collaboratively with BD colleagues across the firm’s global network and work effectively with brand, marketing, communications, events and research specialists where required. The successful applicant will be joining a global team who work together to shape the firm’s client strategy, complete analysis of complex business issues, target opportunities, develop compelling proposals and create content and marketing campaigns that lead the firm’s digital presence. Together they define the client experience and shape the perception of the firm around the globe. The Business Development Manager will work closely with London Dispute Resolution partners with a focus on delivering high quality BD support and guidance and capitalising on BD opportunities in this region with key clients. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging, engaging work that will provide you with an opportunity to both make your mark and allow career progression. You will be responsible for identifying and responding to specific challenges and opportunities for the Dispute Resolution practice and consequently developing and executing a focused marketing and business development strategy that strengthens relationships with existing clients and targets new work. You will be expected to leverage technology and tools to analyse trends, anticipate and identify opportunities to develop existing clients and services, track key relationships and measure the success of initiatives and will work with lawyers within the practice to compose and manage compelling proposals including pitches, RFP responses and other opportunities to win work for the regional practice group, often with a fast turnaround. In addition, the role holder will produce and manage practice group content, campaigns, events and relevant directory and award submissions to increase engagement with key clients and enhance the personal brands of leading practitioners and the firm’s reputation globally.
The ideal candidate will a bright graduate or equivalent with considerable marketing and business development experience gained in a law firm or other professional services organisation. A curious and driven team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial spirit, the Business Development Manager will possess strong multi-tasking and project management skills and demonstrated capabilities to resiliently manage multiple deadlines and changing project criteria whilst working under pressure. A good understanding of the London legal market and the firm’s client strategy will be essential whilst previous experience of working in a Dispute Resolution or related practice BD role will be highly advantageous.
