SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Job Summary
NextGen are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and students, particularly those with Social, Emotional Mental Health needs.
Roles
*Support students with their learning activities
*Supervise students during class and other school activities, maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
*Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
*Foster positive relationships with students
Experience
*Previous experience working with children with SEMH is preferred
*Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
*Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
*Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
*Basic knowledge of educational practices or child development principles is advantageous.
*The familiarity of ’TeamTeach’ and the willingness to complete the course
