Visual Arts Senior Technical Instructor
Location: Northampton
Salary: £27,002 - £30,370 per annum dependent on experience
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and resilient individual with the skills to use visual art as an effective therapeutic activity; delivering a robust and meaningful programme across a variety of clinical areas. You need to be effective in working autonomously, communicating with a wide range of people and motivated to support the development of the Recovery and enabling pathway. You will be delivering a wide range of art interventions guided by Occupational Therapy theory and principles; working with people with complex needs whereby interventions are personalised to promote health, wellbeing and occupational therapy outcomes.

The Arts team sits within the Allied Health Professionals department, consisting of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Speech and Language Therapy. The Arts team currently offer a centralised service to the Northampton site whilst Birmingham and Essex have their own Arts Team managed locally within the Occupational Therapy services.
The Person and Role
We are looking to recruit into our Visual Arts Senior Technical Instructor role, a highly motivated, knowledgeable and innovative person who will join our existing and highly experienced team of 2 art practitioners. We will be asking you to take responsibility for organising and delivering art interventions demonstrating versatility and show initiative. We are looking for a person to be effective in their communication skills, both written and verbal, which are essential, and have the ability to develop good professional relationships with individuals in our care and members of the ward teams.

You will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy and be actively engaged to develop creative opportunities for the patients in our care.
