Job Description:
Purchasing Administrator
Location: New Milton (Free Parking)
Salary: Starting at £13.74 per hour
Hours: 35 Hours a week - Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
Contract: Temporary (with potential to go permanent)
IMMEDIATE START!
Our client, based in new Milton, is looking for an experienced Administrator to assist and support the Supply Chain Manager in all aspects of procurement activities.
You will be the key focal point for the purchasing department regarding all administration and purchasing matters.
It is a fast-paced environment which involves prioritising your workload, responding quickly to changing schedules and liaising with other departments.
Main Responsibilities:
*To create purchase orders against demand of the system and also from shared forecasting information.
*Source new parts as required either by telephone or online. Gather necessary information including price, supplier, full description and lead time.
*Assist in achieving cost reductions through negotiation and sourcing against targets on existing purchase prices within the companies range of commodities and services
*Help review the purchase order system to ensure it is accurate, up to date and consistently meets the requirements of the business
*To liaise with other departments within the business to help ensure the smooth and efficient transfer of high quality information and data
*Provision of timely feedback on the procurement process to internal customers, supplying better information to liaise and plan delivery dates with external customers.
*Running and creating various daily and monthly reports and attending meetings
*Ensuring returned items are accurately recorded and faulty items replaced by vendor in a timely manner. Warranty returns management. Advanced replacement management
In order to be successful in this administration role, you need to have:
*Great administration skills, who has experience working in a customer service environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*A positive ’can do’ attitude, is self-motivated and can take ownership of situations.
*GCSE or equivalent Grade A-C including Maths and English
*Solid understanding of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Excel and Word
*Experience in negotiating supplier contracts to gain cost reduction (desirable)
*Experience working in a similar purchasing role and busy office and customer service environment is essential
*Preparation and interrogation business reports
