Job Description:
City & Capital are currently supporting a fast growing & highly respected commercial property finance lender who are on a huge growth curve with ambitions to be the leading lender in their sector.
Due to this, they are keen to appoint an ambitious & proactive individual who can join the business as a Team Assistant. You will work in direct support of the Head of Sales & provide daily support and activity management to the sales and underwriting teams.
Our client is targeting £1bn in lending in 2025 which will see the sales & underwriting functions grow significantly over the course of the year to support that. Our client is renowned for supporting property investors and developers who are seeking to borrow money for key property projects.
This includes working directly with borrowers as well as via the sectors vibrant broker market. Products on offer include bridging finance, BTL, commercial mortgages and development exit loans.
Within the role you would expect a blend of traditional PA duties on behalf of the Head of Sales/Head of Underwriting with Team Assistant duties to support the sales team and lending activity.
As Team Assistant you will be responsible for supporting a busy team of Business Development Executives and Underwriters (office based) as well as external sales professionals, such as Business Development Managers, Senior Business Development Managers, Head of National Accounts & National Account Manager.
This is a diverse but exciting role where you can really have an impact on the businesses ongoing success.
Role duties include (but may not be limited to):
· Diary management for the Heads of Sales departments
· Assisting with event planning and organisation
· Booking events, hotel, travel and accommodation
· Attendance at industry events and conferences
· Setting agendas and taking minutes for key meetings
· Room bookings and forward planning for the sales department
· Developing and distributing departmental reports
· Liaising across departments to gather information
· Departmental administration and upkeep
· Support the management of the sales office & its upkeep
· Undertake procurement for the department where required
· Supplier management
· Assist with the development and upkeep of the company CRM
· Act as a key point of contact for brokers and borrowers
· Assist the sales team with activity that supports the loan cycle
· Create and distribute contracts on behalf of the Head of Sales
· Arrange and attend interviews for new staff members, where requested
· Assist with monthly sales expenses and payroll activity, liaise with Finance
· Drafting e mails and responding to correspondence
· Type up and file appraisals for the department, liaise with HR
· Undertake new broker registrations and update relevant systems
· Tackle any task that supports the need of the team or its clients
This role would ideally suit someone who has experience working with loans or mortgages before, whether this be for a bank, lender, broker or legal firm. This is due to the Team Assistant element of the role, supporting the lending activity and activity with brokers and borrowers. An individual with TA/PA experience but no lending experience can also be considered if they are willing to learn quickly, as all training will be given.
The ideal individual must be highly organised with exceptional time management & prioritisation skills. You will be an outstanding communicator verbally and in writing and will be happy to tackle any task that drives activity forward.
You will be confident when creating reports and working with data and will be proactive in your approach, quick to spot opportunities or problems, and to address them. Most of all, you will have a positive disposition and ambitions to grow with the lender for the long term.
Experience / Skills Required
· Previous experience working within a secured lending environment preferred
· Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage, though not a pre-requisite
· Highly organised and proactive in approach
· Excellent attention to detail and capacity to keep on top of multiple tasks and projects
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
· Outstanding time management and prioritisation skills
· Happy working in a high pressure and fast paced sales environment
· Ambitious and keen to drive career forward within
Our client is ideally looking at paying a basic salary of between £55-60k for the ideal candidate, which will be relevant to experience, as you would expect. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional talent. Salary will be complemented by access to our client’s favourable bonus scheme too, which will significantly boost annual earnings.
Most notably, this is a role that comes with a lot of opportunity to progress. Our client is set to double the size of their business (having already achieved this 6 times in the last 6 years) and operate a very strong & proven promote from within policy. Please note that due to the requirement to work closely with the sales team day to day that this is an office-based role. Our client operates a number of offices in the heart of London, so the requirement to be able to commute to and to work Mayfair or Victoria are key.
