Job Description:
Senior Accountant *Annual Salary: Up to £45,000
*Location: Near Rugby
*Job Type: Full-time
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a friendly supportive accounting practice located close to Rugby. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in accounting, looking to leverage their expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Day-to-day of the role: *Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
*Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks).
*Assist with tax audits and tax returns directly associated with the practice.
*Lead and coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, instituting and maintaining other planning and control procedures.
*Analyse and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis.
*Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
*Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
*Liaise with our Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Proven experience as a Senior Accountant.
*In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
*Experience with accounting software and databases.
*Excellent organisational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.
*Additional experience in Audit and International accounting is a plus.
*ACA, ACCA, or CIMA full qualification is preferred.
