We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to deliver high-quality education to students with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and other complex SEND needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about using innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
Day-to-day of the role: *Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons that cater to the needs of students with varying strengths and developmental needs.
*Utilise a variety of teaching methods to provide a balanced education in Science, incorporating practical and theoretical elements.
*Contribute to the development of bespoke programmes that leverage students’ strengths and address their areas for development.
*Participate in and sometimes lead activities outside the classroom, which may include projects related to Land Based Studies and Animal Care.
*Assess and record students’ progress, maintaining up-to-date records and providing feedback to students and parents/guardians.
*Collaborate with colleagues to integrate vocational and technical experiences into the curriculum, enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Science or a related subject.
*Experience teaching Science at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum for alternative secondary provisions.
*Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to suit students with EHCPs and complex SEND needs.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
*Commitment to continuous professional development and learning new teaching strategies.
