Job Description:
Your Company:
A security business is seeking a Vetting Officer to join the team in Poole. This is a highly successful company with nearly 20 years of history, providing technical and security services to both the public and private sectors. The position holder will be joining a bustling team, where they will be operating essential vetting processes within the business, managing the internal and external clearances, providing vetting services to clients and liaising with third parties when needed.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
*Implementing and monitoring security controls for the maintenance of personnel security NSV staff within the company or sub-contracted to it
*Undertaking aftercare duties for individuals in the company network to ensure compliance with regulations or that additional security checks have been done
*Managing the end-to-end vetting application process, and for new vetting only clients, including liaising with vetting providers
*Leading security briefings with applicants and line managers for instances where UKSV restrictions on clearance are set
*Updating the board and senior management are aware of any security obligations and ensuring the company’s personnel security business processes are compliant with legislation, the policies are also compliant with regulations and HR welfare policies, and keeping an up-to-date knowledge of all industry knowledge and regulations and attend relevant training
*Taking ownership of any personnel security incidents, and ensuring that any incidents and changes of circumstance or anything that affects an individual’s ability to hold NSV clearance is reported appropriately
*Implementing processes to brief and debrief SC and DV cleared staff who may need to travel to particular foreign countries for business or personal reasons
*Keeping the information management system maintained, accurate and up to date

What you will need to Apply:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
*Recent and extensive experience within a similar vetting/security role
*Core experience processing security clearances and additional experience in information security is needed
*Applicants must hold a UK Security clearance of at least SC level, but also with the position for DV in the future
*Additional training that is desired include DISA Security Vetting & Personnel Security and DISA Role of the Facility Security Controller
*A sound knowledge of MOD and government security requirements, as well as knowledge of the National Protectice Security Authority’s facility security clearance policies is preferred
*Good organisational and prioritisation skills are needed, as well as strong communication abilities, alongside people management and development skills

For the successful candidate a starting salary of up to £40,000 is on offer, which will accompany a very strong remuneration package including a good pension, generous holiday allowance and option for bonus earnings.
