Job Description: Sales Engineer – North (Scottish Borders to Stoke)
Base Salary: £55,000–£60,000 (DOE).
Uncapped Commission: On-target earnings (OTE) of £100,000+, with significant potential for overachievement.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to manage and grow a highly successful territory that has consistently generated £2.5M in sales over the past three years. This region has enormous potential for further expansion, making this an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong sales and engineering background in capital equipment.
This role is equally split between managing existing accounts and driving new business within the meat, fish, poultry, and dairy industries. Sales cycles are long, with large projects typically taking 9+ months from initial engagement to closing. Orders range from £40K to £1M in value, requiring a strategic and consultative approach to solution selling.
Key Responsibilities:
*Account Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with a well-established client base, ensuring repeat business and satisfaction.
*New Business Development: Proactively identify and secure new customers within the region, leveraging your network and expertise in the sector.
*Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets.
*Project Management: Collaborate with internal engineering and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery, from concept to commissioning.
*Client Engagement: Understand customer production challenges and propose tailored solutions involving capital equipment.
*Market Insight: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and technological advancements to position the company as a market leader.
Candidate Requirements:
*Experience: Proven track record of success in sales within the food processing or FMCG machinery sector, ideally selling capital equipment into the meat, fish, and poultry industries.
*Technical Knowledge: Strong engineering background, with a solid understanding of production line machinery and processes.
*Sales Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and deliver solutions to high-value clients.
*Hunter Mentality: Driven to identify new opportunities and expand market share, with a focus on achieving ambitious growth goals.
*Territory Management: Experience managing a large geographical area and working independently to achieve targets.
*Communication: Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
