Job Description:
Early Years Lecturer
*Job Type: Part-time 22 hours per week
*Location: Dorset
*Salary: £25-£30p/h
We are recruiting for an Early Years Lecturer. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Early Years Education and Childcare subject areas. If you have a passion for education and a background in Early Years or Childcare, we encourage you to apply.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Teach courses as agreed with the Learning Manager across Early Years and care.
*Contribute to the design, delivery, and future planning and development of the curriculum.
*Ensure inclusive learning practices are adhered to in all activities.
*Organise and participate in enrichment activities such as guest speakers and educational visits to enhance the learner experience.
*Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, and provide timely feedback and reports.
*Maintain responsibility for the health and safety of self and others in the learning environment.
*Contribute to the teaching/learning resource bank for the relevant subject/course.
*Act as a Personal Tutor to students.
*Represent the College at internal and external events including student recruitment and open days.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
*Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve one within 2 years.
*A relevant professional qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g., Diploma in Childcare and Education, Level 3 NVQ in Early Years, Care and Education, Children and Young People’s Workforce, NNEB).
*Proven record of delivering high-standard teaching, learning, and assessment in a college or work setting, including support for apprentices.
*Relevant industrial experience within an Early Years or Education environment (e.g., Day Nursery, School, or pre-school).
*Experience in working with students and assessing vocational practice.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to adapt to new software.
