Job Description:
MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Management Accountant to join a well-established and heavily respected organisation, based in Colchester. As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts and business partnering with managers across the organisation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
*Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
*Work with budget holders to produce meaningful narrative and understand opportunities and risks within the organisation
*Oversee and sign off payment runs and ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments
*Prepare a monthly cash flow
*Prepare month-end journals and Balance Sheet reconciliations
*Support with reporting and analysis for grant applications
*Provide support, advice and guidance to the wider staff team to ensure effective and confident engagement with financial policies, processes, and internal control systems
*Participate in the preparation of the organisation’s annual financial statements
*Assist the auditors with audit queries
*Other duties / ad-hoc support where required
Key Skills & Attributes:
*Accounting qualification (AAT Qualified or CIMA/ACCA part-qualified)
*Strong analytical and Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookups, etc.
*Experience using accounting software. Working knowledge of Xero is desirable.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of internal and external stakeholders
*Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
*Ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly
*Ability to work independently under own initiative and cooperatively as part of a team
