Job Description:
Personnel Selection are working with this fantastic Salisbury based business, who are currently recruiting for an External Sales Engineer to join their expanding workforce.
Who are they?
My client is a privately owned engineering SME based in Wiltshire, with clients all over the globe - some of whom are still customer after over 3 decades! They are a profitable, innovative business and have secured exciting long-term contracts with some extremely well-known companies. The business is recognised within the industry for their fantastic product quality and pioneering engineering techniques.
What does the role involve?
As the External Sales Engineer, you will engage with new and existing clients and discuss the engineering solutions the business can offer. Building long-lasting and fruitful relationships will be top of your priorities list - you will be dealing with high-value products, therefore your ability to nurture clients, provide excellent service and consultatively sell must be abundant. My client is strategically growing their market share in sectors that have exacting quality standards. The person who joins them in this role will be tasked with assisting in realising this plan! The role is a mix of new business sales and account management, and the ideal person will be able to demonstrate experience in both areas. You will work alongside the existing team, which has both internal and external associates and will report in to the Sales Director.
There will be regular travel (around once per month, both UK & OUK) required, so flexibility is a must.
You should be willing & able to travel to Salisbury Head Office weekly – initially 2-3 times per week, reducing down to 1 day a week once fully trained.
Are you the right person for this role?
If you have a background in engineering, ideally with knowledge of pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics and fluid engineering and have enjoyed a successful sales career, then this could be a great role for you! You may well be an Internal Sales Engineer, looking for an opportunity to move in to a field based position, or you could be an experienced External Sales Engineer looking for their next challenge. Your attention to detail and communication skills should be exemplary, as well as your ability to engage with a range of personalities. You must be flexible and happy to travel across the UK frequently. A full driving license is essential.
What is the package?
You will receive a generous basic salary of up to £55k + monthly commission, which is uncapped. A company car, or car allowance will be offered, alongside company phone, laptop and 23 days annual leave + bank holidays.
