Job Description:
This exciting role involves managing the procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective supply of all materials, sub-assemblies, and support services, working closely with various internal departments to optimise procurement performance.
Key Responsibilities: *Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure cost savings while maintaining high standards.
*Optimise the flow of products from various sources within a responsible supplier portfolio.
*Develop and own departmental KPIs to measure and improve performance.
*Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery speed.
*Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance purchasing processes and performance.
*Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies for materials, supplies, and services.
*Manage and evaluate supplier performance, building strong, reliable relationships.
*Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Stores teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
*Monitor and forecast demand levels to maintain continuous supply while minimising excess inventory.
*Lead, mentor, and coach the purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
*Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems.
Job Requirements: *Significant experience in purchasing and supply within an electronics manufacturing environment.
*CIPS: Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
*Proven track record in leading teams and securing favourable terms from suppliers.
*Familiarity with modern procurement techniques and lean processes.
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a hands-on approach.
*Experience in the operation of ERP and MRP tools.
*Strong understanding of electronic components, logistics, and supply chain management principles.
*Commitment to environmental issues and skilled in "Supply chain Greening".
