Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Claims Handler - Level 2 to join a leading underwriting and claims management team specializing in professional indemnity insurance. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, managing a diverse portfolio of professional indemnity claims and contributing to a high-performing team.
Main Functions
*Prepare detailed claim reports for complex cases.
*Establish and update reserve estimates as cases progress.
*Refer policy points to insurers and collaborate with underwriters when needed.
*Handle correspondence with insureds, brokers, insurers, and claimants.
*Assist insured parties with drafting defences and letters when required.
*Consult with the Claims Director and team members on challenging or high-value claims.
*Ensure compliance with service standards and delegated authority limits.
*Negotiate claim settlements within defined authority parameters.
*Contribute to the team’s profile by preparing articles that promote the claims handling service and support underwriting efforts.
Ancillary Functions
*Achieve target billable hours.
*Adhere to training plans and maintain continuous professional development.
*Perform ad hoc duties as requested by Directors.
*Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
*Degree-level education with 1-3 years’ experience managing professional indemnity claims.
*Progress toward ACII or equivalent CII qualification.
*Prior experience handling UK professional indemnity claims, with a focus on construction or legal risks being advantageous.
*Familiarity with ECF or similar insurance systems (preferred but not essential).
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Proficiency in MS Office applications.
*Enthusiastic and adaptable approach to work, with a commitment to learning and development.
