Job Description:
The Suffolk County Local Government branch of UNISON is recruiting a Branch Organiser/Caseworker to support members in Education settings and non-divested employers across Suffolk. With 6800+ branch members, we support 2800 in Education.
Successful candidates will be employed by the Branch rather than UNISON. They will use their experience and skills in assisting the branch to recruit, map membership density, develop new activists, organise and drive forward our campaigning work as well as undertaking individual casework.
The successful candidate will be an experienced team player, have good communication and time management skills, including the ability to organise their own workload and effectively manage their priorities. They will need to undertake a range of organising and casework duties to support our members and activists including often working to tight deadlines and being responsible for updating and maintaining accurate and confidential records.
To undertake this role, you must have good interpersonal and IT skills, excellent administrative and organisational skills and a good understanding and knowledge of the trade union movement in education and non-divested services would be advantageous.
You will need to be able to travel within the geographical location of Suffolk and on occasions elsewhere for meetings/training as required. You will be required to live within reasonable travelling distance of the area you are asked to cover.
The role is a permanent, full time, position, 35hrs per week, with a spot salary of £35,403.00.
To apply for this opportunity, please click ’APPLY NOW’. Upon receipt of your application we will share an ’application pack’ for your completion to conclude your interest for this role.
The closing date for completed applications is 5pm on Friday 13th December 2024.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview, presentation and written test will be undertaken at our branch office in Ipswich.
Interviews will take place Friday 20th December 2024.
