Job Description:
The Role: Pastoral Lead
Part time 15 Hours per week 12:00 – 15:00 Monday to Friday.
We are seeking an exceptional Pastoral Lead to join our dedicated team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality and effective safeguarding and pastoral support across the school, maintaining accurate records and working with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies to ensure appropriate plans and strategies are in place to support pupils and their families with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
To deliver individual or small group interventions to meet the emotional or behavioural needs of pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
*To liaise with teaching staff to assess and provide particular support to targeted pupils to raise achievement and enable them to overcome barriers to learning
*To undertake home visits to keep parents/carers informed and secure positive family support
*To be a point of contact with parents/carers in relation to pastoral care and behaviour matters.
*To support the development of partnerships with external agencies/organisations to set up resources/initiatives to help address barriers to learning
*To undertake support activities to respond to the unmet needs of families, including undertaking early help assessments and CAFs.
*Also to attend TAF meetings.
*To maintain accurate records (using CPOMS), presenting and accounting for their work with children, young people and families as required, in term of quality assurance, audit and inspection processes including producing a termly report for governors.
*To work within school policies and procedures and take a role in implementing practices which reflect the school’s commitment to positive behaviour and emotional well-being
*To deliver behavioural interventions to groups or individuals, to meet their needs.
*To support the pastoral transition of vulnerable pupils, particularly from Nursery to Reception and Year 6 to Year 7
Requirements:
*A sound working knowledge of safeguarding
*An understanding of how external agencies work,
*An ability to respect confidentiality.
*An honest, transparent approach.
*A commitment to working with families.
*Good organisation and time management skills.
*Ability to work constructively as part of a team.
*Ability to record information concisely and write reports on time.
Desirable Qualities:
*Experience in leading mentoring or nurture programmes
*Knowledge of the PSHE curriculum and its delivery
*Familiarity with attendance monitoring and strategies to improve pupil attendance
*Ability to provide training and support to staff on pastoral care and behaviour management
