Job Description:
Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Housing Litigation Lawyer for our client a local government organisation in Merton.
The successful candidate will provide customer focused, high quality and responsive specialist legal advice in relation to Housing Litigation, specifically covering a wide range of housing management issues including disrepair claims.
This is initially a 6 month contract with the possibility to extend after that date. This role is hybrid working.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
*Be responsible, for providing creative legal solutions on a seamless basis to support service transformation and change and to meet client needs and at the more senior levels to be able to deliver advice on a broad range of areas.
*Carry an extensive case load of complex and sensitive matters.
*Be responsible for representing the interests of the service within the wider organisations in any of the five authorities and with external clients.
*Provide support and supervision to legal and non-legal junior staff.
*Deputise for the Senior Lawyer, Principal Lawyer, Assistant Head of Law or Head of Law.
Personal Requirements:
*Experience with Local Authority experience and to manage own case load.
*Knowledge around the pre-action protocols in possession claims, succession claims and non-occupation/subletting is required.
*Qualified solicitor or barrister or chartered legal executive or equivalent legal experience with a background in local government.
Working Hours: 35hrs / 9:00am - 17:00pm / Monday to Friday
Pay: £50.00 per hour
