Maintenance Engineer - Furnaces

Job Description:
Due to continued growth I’m currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to work with a well-established engineering company based near Halesowen. As the Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for working alongside the maintenance management team in planning and supervising contractors whilst working of furnace reliability, planning and reviewing furnace survey schedules & instrument calibrations.
Shift pattern for the Maintenance Engineer:
*7.30am - 16.30pm (15:30pm finish on Fridays)

Duties of the Maintenance Engineer:
*On a daily basis, check all furnaces are working correctly.
*Check all qualified furnaces are operating within the specifications of their qualification and sign off the charts, maintain a daily log reporting the above.
*Attend to and repair any fault that may occur on a furnace.
*On a weekly basis carry out system accuracy tests (SATS) on all qualified furnaces and produce documents to log results.
*On a monthly basis carry out preventative maintenance checks on a rolling program on all furnaces.
*Plan and review all furnace instrument calibration sign certificates and keep documents in a register.
*Manufacture, calibrate and re-calibrate Type R thermocouples and keep in a register.
*Replace Type K thermocouples and keep in a register. Issue certificates of calibration to each surveyed furnace, to each thermocouple Type R and Type K and for each furnace denoting where each thermocouple is located its’ date of issue and the date showing next calibration due.
*Keep and maintain all calibration records
*Complete Furnace Survey Reports
*To work in other departments when required.
*Any other duties deemed to be required.
*Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
The successful candidate for the Maintenance Engineers position will have the following experience:
*3 - 5 year’s experience working as a Furnace Technician (Essential)
*Able to read and interpret technical Engineering drawings
*Experience within heavy engineering (Desirable)
