Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor to join our engineering client at one of their sites in Rochdale.
This permanent position will be well suited to an individual with a strong background in leadership within a Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
You will have the opportunity to develop and assist in driving forward the Company’s manufacturing plan to achieve sales targets and meet customer demands.
Rate of pay - £15.05 per hour.
Hours of work - 8 hour shifts between 6am – 10pm.
Main Objectives/Responsibilities :
*Direct and control operatives/staff at site, ensuring that they are appropriately trained and motivated to conduct their responsibilities to the required standard.
*Monitor the volume and quality of output to ensure that this is to the standards required as laid down in the manufacturing program.
*Monitor production equipment and processes as necessary to ensure the volume and quality of output are maintained to the required standard and escalate any concerns or issues.
*Ensure there are sufficient raw materials on site to meet the manufacturing program. Follow up any shortages and escalate where necessary.
*Monitor manning levels on production equipment and make recommendations/changes as necessary in the event of staff absence to support the program.
*Ensure all Company Health & Safety policies and regulations are complied with. Report any accidents/near misses/concerns in line with Company policy. Ensure the maintenance of all housekeeping within the site/department is to the required standard.
*Address and resolve (with relevant department) any technical issues arising in the production process which may prevent the meeting of the program.
*Ensure all production records are maintained. Where necessary adjust the production process through changes in equipment or labour to meet all targets.
*Communicate with HR any issues or assistance needed with staff. Where necessary conduct meetings with the guidance of HR.
*Ensure the site and associated equipment is secure out of hours.
*Highlight and implement improvement ideas to reduce waste.
*Ensure all operatives wear the correct PPE when conducting their duties.
Skills & Experience Required :
*Working within a unionized manufacturing environment
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Time management skills
*Demonstrate creative solutions, introduce changes to processes to eliminate issues from reoccurring in line with Company procedure.
*Proven IT competency.
*Use logic and reason to identify solutions in dealing efficiently with problems.
*Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet internal deadlines.
*Leadership skills and collaborative way of working, ensuring sharing ideas and concepts.
*The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
*Adaptive to change and ability to encourage others to change.
